What are the benefits of hiring a coach?

The benefits of having a coach are:

  • One-on-one planning.
  • Coach can help identify strengths and weaknesses of each individual
  • Cater a plan around strengths, weaknesses, and specific goals
  • They can help if an athlete is stuck in a rut with training and racing and would like to improve their performance.
  • They help develop a annual plan with the athlete to help them achieve a specific goal, or multiple goals throughout a season
  • Assess where the athlete is vs. where they want to go, and help create a path for them to get there.
  • Plans are adjusted weekly, bi weekly or monthly depending on the coach, which means they can take into account multiple factors that can come up through a season where a book cannot.
  • A coach can take the guesswork and questioning out of the equation and also provide another level of accountability.  It can be hard for some athletes coaching themselves to take emotion out of the equation and focus on the task at hand when constantly questioning if you are going fast enough, doing enough, resting enough, etc.
